Random thoughts...

Time to focus on the wider goal, the end is in sight.

Don't let distractions pull you down and let the big problems overthrow your thoughts.

Time to take a step back and focus on what really counts and is going to get you the results you need.

If things are going well, roll with them, and make them stick.

Yes good news here as my work for final year at University is going well, and everything is on track for a successful revealing of results in the summer.

Don't forget to take some time out of your busy day to have a good time, have a laugh, a quick youtube browse, or a gander here of course.

The end of a three year era for me is starting to sum up and I hope for you and for me new challenges arise.

Andy Murray Gets Outnumbered - Red Nose Day 2011

Good to see the Outnumbered gang performing some comedy gold, and also great to see Andy Murray taking the piss out of himself.

Got to love the three worst behaved kids and bad disciplining dad on the TV. Thanks for the great sketch.

Enjoy!

Comic Relief 2011 - Karl Pilkington, Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant

A great snippet from Karl Pilkington form 'An Idiot Abroad' discussing his views on Red Nose Day!
Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais are as usual on hand to delight us with Karl's random theories.

He is indeed a great round headed buffoon.

Try not to laugh to hard everyone!

Moan of the day - Barry the Pigeon and I

The title of this post makes me laugh, anything with the word pigeon in it is bound to make me laugh, it is such an odd word, representing one of the oddest creatures.

Yes Pigeons are a little crazy at times, but the other day I had one of the funniest moments in my life, and yes it was with a pigeon.

Regular readers may know about my fear of birds, however this bird I met on the pavement recently wasn't scary but humourous and entertaining.

We have all been in the situation on a path when a yourself and another person try to walk past each other, except you both go to go the same way. Then you both head the other direction blocking each other.
Yes it is a confusing stepping process before someone stops and you can both pass usually laughing or apologising for getting in the way.

This is the situation I had with the pigeon, who I have now named Barry.

We were on a path, when we came head to bobbing head (Barry the pigeon is the bobbing head not me), this pigeon did go to fly off or move out my way, just instead stood his ground.

I went to go left and so did he, i went right, and he went right. This step repeated a few times, before we waddled out the way.

This situation involving Barry the pigeon  was very humanising. It gave human character to this bird, and I wondered whether perhaps he had done this before.

He seemed to get the path passing process, and almost apologised on his exit. The personification of the bird was extremely funny and entertained me for a few short moments!

I hope you meet a funny bird to make you laugh soon, I for one hope Barry is well.

CIMORELLI - "Coming Home" Mashup

Mashup of "Coming Home" by Diddy Dirty Money, "Whatcha Say" by Jason Derulo, "Stay" by Miley Cyrus, and "Whatever You Like" by T.I. Hope you like our arrangement!

Always good to hear the Cimorelli sisters in the day to make you enjoy music once again.
A nice mashup of songs here recorded, opposed to the usual acoustic, which highlights the fact they could be recording artists with great voices like that.

Moan of the day!

Annoying funny people is todays topic.

Today I was with a friend when we saw a man holding a bike sitting down by the curb.

He looked a little estranged, and then we noticed his leg was gushing with blood, well bleeding mildly.
I must be a horrible person as I immediately wanted to laugh out loud, as he looked so depressed and that cheered me up (was feeling a bit mean today).

He looked a little lost, clearly his leg had stopped him to be able to pedal on, and get back on that horse (well bike).

We popped to the shop to get some food, and then saw him again.

We had moved about 300m, but this time was sat on the floor almost in tears.

Everyone was walking past seeing this man with a bloody leg and wincing face.

However in this day and age, if someone needed your help surely they would say, I thought about asking if he was ok, but everyone has a mobile, so maybe he just tried to keep going and make the most of his pain.

Perhaps I was a little harsh when writing this, but he looked so sorry for himself with his push bike and a bloody knee.

Pink - Perfect (Boyce Avenue acoustic cover)

I have loved the sound of Boyce Avenue for so many years, but on this version of Pinks 'Perfect' the tone is just simply incredible. The richness of the voice is so warm.

Bullied child fights back!

I am not condoning violence, or the actions of these individuals that may be construed as irresponsible and dangerous, but the actions of the a kid being bullied in the video shows courage and strength to put the bully in his place.

Viewer discretion advised.

Moan of the day!

Moan of the day is ME! I have failed to post daily writing as I did so consistently in January
I would just like to apologise to my all my regular readers who may have noticed I have posted less moans and irritants of the day recently.
I have found myself very busy recently with essay writing and have found it hard to do some decent writing for you.
It also seems with my constant work that I can only moan about essay writing, which could get boring after a while.
So therefore I am waiting for something really interesting to happen, and get my writing back up to scratch again.

Any who

Tip of the day
Don't have a massive chocolate smoothie straight after dinner, you may feel sickly all evening.

Funny moment of the day
I walked through a door in the library, but I stopped to say hello to someone I knew and the door came flying back and hit me from behind.

Irritant of the day
Shopping for ice cream at the time everyone finished work. It was bedlam, too much queuing for one item

Ellie Goulding - Lights Acoustic - RADIO 1 LIVE LOUNGE

A fantastic live lounge from Ellie Goulding who performs an excellent acoustic and stripped backed version of her single 'Lights'.
Rumour has it Ellie will be releasing her cover of Rihanna's 'Only Girl (in the world)' as a B track to the single 'Lights', this just makes me smile

Michael Jackson - Hollywood Tonight

Not really sure if I particularly enjoy this song, but it is Michael Jackson, so perhaps I should sway and pretend

Arctic Monkeys - Brick By Brick

Jessie J - Nobody's Perfect (VEVO LIFT Presents

Moan of the day!

Well thought I would be stuck in all day with a stinking cold and headache, going through tissues at a fast rate as if they were pringles.
However the day was well and me and my friends got to the park for 4 hours to run around and play.

Yes at almost 21 years old I shouldn't have been so excited, but sandwiches wrapped in foil, football and Frisbee is hard to turn down.

I have been out for fresh air and feeling good, after seeing some grazing sheep and happy families.

We played in the woods and enjoyed some Poo Sticks!

Kicking the ball about and having a good walk in the sun is something that made the day good, despite the feeling of being bunged up.

Nelly - Gone ft. Kelly Rowland

Well it seems Nelly and Kelly Rowland's new video for 'Gone' isn't that inspiring or sounding too good, especially when you compare it to the classic 'dilemma'. Neither does it match Nelly's 'Just a dream'.

Enjoy if you can

Bad Teacher Movie Trailer Official

This film coming to you in the summer of 2011 looks surprisingly good considering its context surrounding teachers.
This may be one to look out for, with Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake and Jason Segal, how could it possibly go wrong.
There appears to be a great amount of wit and innuendos to keep you all on your toes.

Japan Earthquake and Tsunami

My deepest empathy is shared with the nation of Japan as they suffer the aftermath of the 7th largest Earthquake recorded in the world.

With a 8.9 magnitude the Earthquake struck viciously and without haste as the East Coast of Japan awaited the very long Earthquake to stop its wrath.

Reports indicate that the Earthquake lasted a long time and aftershocks have been continuing ever since. Due to the large initial earthquake, the aftershocks have been big and just as dangerous.

With Tokyo experiencing a high impact of shocks, its buildings have survived, however residential houses have suffered. Reports have indicated the ground departing, and debris damage.

Close to the epicenter damage has been severe, added to by the large and devastating Tsunami which has followed.

With massive waves as high as Jumbo Jet Planes, the destruction is growing and causing buildings by the coast to be ripped apart.

In the sea one boat was trapped in a whirl pool near the harbour as the sea took its vengeance.

It is reported that over 50 people have been reported dead so far, with a high injury rate raising hourly.

A fear of the Nuclear Power plants structure is under review by the Japanese government, as some fires have started, although reporting no radiation has been leaked.

One passenger boat with 100 passengers has been reported as missing, after it was swept away by the power of the tsunami and angry sea.
My heart goes out to the nation.

Alert warnings around the pacific are in action, with Ecuador, Mexico, Australia, Russia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hawaii, Philippines all on standby.
New Zealand has just reported its threat from the Tsunami is lifted, and Taiwan is shortly behind this.

This natural disaster is just awful to see, and the aftershocks may be seen for a long time to come.
After last years Chile Earthquake, aftershocks and seismic activity can be seen to continue a year after the quake first stuck.

Be safe, and be strong out there!

Grey's Anatomy Music Event

Grey's Anatomy Music Event sneak peak, where the character Callie sings Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol

Jennifer Lopez - On The Floor ft. Pitbull

Well I don't think this video and song is that great, but it seems the American population are behind it all the way.

Now I wonder if that has anything to do on Jennifer Lopez's stint on American Idol, thank you free advertising.

Moan of the day

Getting showered and ready for the day, but only being out for 30minutes or so. Ever feel you could just go without and slump around all day.
Slumping around and not getting ready for the day is the most relaxing thing, and pulling yourself out of the bed is also a rather tricky task to conduct.

My words of the day
Ching - hearing this word in the shop made me laugh, who says that at a till

Tip of the day
Don't put your drink by the side of the table, it will fall off when you put your feet up

Fact of the day
"Almost" is the longest commonly used word in the English language with all the letters in alphabetical order.

Jennifer Aniston, Viral

Jennifer Aniston and Keenan Cahill in a viral advert for SmartWater? Really. Oh yes!

The making of a Moaner: Kanye West - All Of The Lights ft. Rihanna, Kid Cu...

This video has been found to cause epileptic fits, please take caution.
Anyone remember when everyone disliked Kanye over Taylor Swift
The making of a Moaner: Kanye West - All Of The Lights ft. Rihanna, Kid Cu...: "Not really liking this video or the song, it could have been great, but it seems comprises have been made for silly artistic flare..."

Travel: Train Habits

I have an issue on a train when I am sat in the window seat all comfy and snuggled and someone comes and sits next to me. Suddenly I am squashed and aware of by belongings, their body odour, and all their awful habits.

From sniffling and coughing, to shaky knees people know how to make me grip my teeth together and pretend to be a nice person.

I find the situation much worse, when you have had the whole journey to yourself and then one stop before you are due to get off someone sits down next too.

From relaxation to stress. You need to allow time for the fat person next to you to get out of their chair and into the aisle so you can get off the train before it leaves the situation.

Sometimes this person is asleep or unaware you are trying to get up and off the train.

Similarly an issues arises with people who love to read massive broadsheet newspapers on the train, they get right on my side of the double seat.

That is all folks!

These seats look a tad more private and spacious

Lady Gaga 'Born this way' - Video

Well isn't this an interesting video...

So much to say about it, it begins very odd with the birth of Aliens or a peaceful race of people/things.

It is rather odd, as the camera focuses on her lower body and weird parts come out of Gaga.

Similarly she seems to be dancing around half naked and grabbing her privates on the floor. Not very PG13/12A  appropriate.

A long way of 'Poker Face', but the music is good, and at the end of the day she is portraying a fantastic message about equality and non-judgmental morals.
