The Apprentice 2011: Week 1
Series 7 of Lord Sugar's Apprentice is back on our Television screens and it is 'packing punches'
With a new prize of £250,000 to start a business with Sir Alan, the stakes are higher and there is much more to prove.
The series already feels different, more passion and drive, however with this comes more idiots and wannabes.
The two women above Helen and Melody first caught my eye as they exchanged a brief evil stare. Helen (left) put herself up for project manager and did Melody (right) who won the role for the first week. Helen glared at Melody as she was denied the task and her ideas for the name of the team (Venture) were similarly shot down, here is some tension to watch throughout the series.
Similarly Edna above showed a high level of evil stares and bitchy looks throughout the program. She got my disapproval within the episode as she come across well in how she acted and worked in a team. She may soon become someone we hope to get rid of.
Although not listened to exclusively, Susan shows promise for the series.
Team Logic (the boys) was headed up by the confusing and rather odd Edward
The self-hating Accountant pushed himself up for project manager and barely made it into anyone's expectations that he was capable and a rational adult.
Unable to tell what an Orange looks like didn't help his corner.
Complaining about being short and the youngest candidate didn't make him a favourite it seemed.
His use of short confusing phrases was noted by Sir Alan, however he was entertaining, just hopeless within the task.
Glenn (above) got a little bit red when he felt the team wasn't going far, and raged up in the kitchens amongst Orange squeezers to assert his male dominance.
Thank god Jim was there to diffuse the situation for us.

Andy Murray Gets Outnumbered - Red Nose Day 2011
Good to see the Outnumbered gang performing some comedy gold, and also great to see Andy Murray taking the piss out of himself.
Got to love the three worst behaved kids and bad disciplining dad on the TV. Thanks for the great sketch.
Enjoy!

Who will eventually win the apprentice??
I would love to hear what you guys think of the remaining candidates..and who you believe will win.

Stella English....................Front runner
Throughout this series there has been a mixed amount of talent, from the obvious sellers to the sneaky brain boxes. Although you may think it is hard to consider a winner at this very point..they all appear strong candidates who may have the potential to go far.
Stuart Baggs - Our favourite German Speaking Englishman
Young and foolish at times, but when it matters he can use business skills with little experience showing his raw potential at this stage of his life. He has become one of the series best characters with energetic outbursts, funny quotes and bizarre but funny behaviour. Will Sir Alan like the rough diamond...or is he wanting stability??
Joanna Riley - Our biggest shock
For me she is the person who I thought would leave fairly quick in the process...however she has been improving each week. She may not present herself as the front runner..but I bet she would happily push her way up there. She says fantastic people skills..and she never appears to be mean to clients and others.. I think she may be the one to watch.
Chris Bates - Forbes magazine...
The posh boy has good business sense and a good knack for slagging...but it works.. He has made this far...I don't believe he will be standing in Lord Sugars company at the end..but he won't go down easily without a fight and his trademark frown.
Jamie Lester - Up and down performer
He has the gift of the gab... and could charm his way to victory...but does he have a good business skill set beside selling..is he a number cruncher...is he creative enough to win. It is a surprise he made it this far..but he keeps picking himself back up..and Lord Alan Sugar admires that quality.
Stella English....................Front runner
Determined to not be cold and wooden, this woman appears to have nothing to hide...great at sales, maths and creativity she has been nothing other than strong and focused throughout the process...but us she the rough diamond Sir Alan is really looking for?

The Best Apprentice Quotes: Week 7. West Field's
We have watched another week of this entertained filled show and the quotes are still coming thick and fast.
Sandeesh
When hearing of there early morning visit to Pinewood Studios she said...
'I'm sure its some department store'
And when they approached it she responded with...
'It must be a famous studio or something'
I know we all have our moments. but this really took the piss, how did she not know this world famous studio, and more importantly, why would she think it was a department store...Was she thinking of Pineapple the dancing shop...?
Chris 'Army'
Said to Jamie on the task that
'you look like a milk tray man'
Why..I didn't see it myself, it just sounded odd
Stuart Baggs
'I don't sit anywhere...but the top'
It must be hard for him to find chairs in everyday life, constantly going to the highest point to find them..not sure he will make it to heaven to look down on us from his chair.
'If my hearts not racing, there's no point being alive'
So we can dream of that
'Where's the spooooon...where's the spoooon'
When talking about the girls need to be spoon fed information. The tone used by Stuart was fantastic..drawn out and in a funny voice
'I hate ass covering'
Enough said on this one..
Champaign taster assistant
On the task prize the woman said
'it's spitting, sniffing...all the things your mother taught you not to do'
Sir Alan Sugar - Lord Sugar
In the board room Sir Alan asked about the information in Stuart's head and what would happen to them if..
' you got run over by the number 6 bus, where does that leave me?
The apprentice quoter of the week once again goes to our favourite NICK who produced some fantastic remarks about Stuart Baggs
NICK
'Stuart's leadership style leaves me trembling with irritation'
'Who does he think he is?'
However ultimately it was the lovely Sandeesh who left the competition, for being up against strong contenders in the board room.

- he also said that 'Sex sells everything' and we wasn't far wrong as his trophy wife worked the advert.

CHRIS 'Posh' BATES
- Came up with the idea of 'Germ-o-nator' I felt it wasn't just referring to germs but also the extinction of German's I am surprised no one said this.

LIZ
- When filming their advert.. Liz said to the model..'pretend it is Brad Pitt you were sat next to..not Chris'

When he was talking about Christopher's advert and acting with the model.
in the boardroom
- 'as soon as she mentioned Octopus you were on it like a tramp on chips'
A fantastic Simile Nick

But Ultimately it was Alex who got the chop this week and was fired with some dignity and manners.

The Apprentice: Best quotes this week! Find out who has been fired.
This week on The Apprentice (BBC) Sir Alan Sugar set the teams the challenge of selling fashion items in Manchester's The Trafford Centre.
As per usual it was madness and mayhem. I have found some gems of quotes for you this week.
STUART:
'fashion is the most boring thing in the world'
'you can sell cotton for beans'
When talking about an eco range of clothes that is recycled
'isn't that what tramps do'

Alex:
Described retail as getting honey to the honey pot, stating is love of retail
also
He managed to extend the phrase 'Doooo you want thissss dress' whilst waving clothes at a potential customer

Paloma:
Had a funny turn in the task and mentioned she was going 'flip out', and I'm sure many of us would have liked to really this, considering she is already rather mean.

Stella:
'Shit'
After seeing the other teams TV advert on the big screen in the food court, a classic.

Once again this weeks apprentice quoter of the week is JAMIE, who has come out with some crackers..
Jamie:
'I just don't do fashion. My wife buys all my clothes for me'
When describing Manchester he said..
'I always just feel I have gone back a few years'
When it is compared to London

But who was fired this week... it was the strong and powerful leader Paloma, who has upset many with her argumentativeness and brash behaviours.
Bye bye Paloma
She was too lippy in the boardroom, and I believe Sir Alan made the right decision.

Top Apprentice quotes this week
What's been happening on BBC's The Apprentice

One of the project managers this week was Jamie, and he had some very interesting things to say
JAMIE-'We are meeting at The Science Museum..so it will be about Science..or Museums'
JAMIE-'I'm bursting with ideas'
CHRIS as project manager wasn't perhaps as interesting as Jamie, with not displaying much humour other than his very posh voice. However he did win the challenge, with really impressive tallies thanks to LIZ
MEL said 'good job I have arm muscles' well done Mel, so does everyone else.
On the topic of MEL she kept pushing at Debenhams after they said 'We do not sell shower heads in our stores'. She was not taking no for an answer.
One company who was pitching to the wannabe apprentices made me laugh very hard when they said 'the wobbly bits that are just hard to keep in place'.
Apprentice quote of the week
SANDY had her shinning moment when she told us that 'babies cant speak to you', obviously teaching us all something brand new.

I don't think so! Apprentice moments.
The Apprentice best bits of the week - thank you BBC for providing us with humour in business.

1)A group of girls getting along under pressure. I don't think so
(maybe if there mouths were zipped shut)
2)Glamour ? Blowing up a beach ball. I don't think so.
(be careful if you have atmosphere)
3)Looking cool with that product on the beach. I don't think so
(it is just a rolled up towel)
4) "I'm not being confrontational". I don't think so.
(why are you shouting then)
5) Small earrings on today. I don't think so
(watch out for a gust if wind)
6) Sand on Brighton beach. I don't think so
(not even in 100 years)
Sir Alan was on the screen this week, missing from Heathrow Airport. He must have very important things to do as he is a millionaire.

O! That's different, What a bore.
I don't think for a start I have given it much of a chance, but I am not feeling the same connection that I used to.
What happened to the ONE SHOW'S spark.
Jason Manford and Alex Jones are capable of presenting this much loved English treasure, but they don't ooze banter and excitement in the same way Christine and Adrian were in our hearts. They just made the outdated articles some what bearable for anyone under 42 years old.
But hey who am I too judge, I only care what happens to the theme tune... One..One...ONEEEEEE.
