X Factor USA

Indeed these new adverts for the American version of The X Factor are over dramatic and highly airbrushed, but it looks exciting. I might actually watch the US version whereas I normally don't watch American Idol, it might be more relevant to the UK market.

The real question is will Cheryl Cole/Tweedy or Christina Aguilera 

 

Britain's Got Talent 2011: New Judges

Yes the 'Hoff'...David Hasselhoff will be joining Britain's got talent as a judge, after his stint on America's got talent. However the 'Hoff' has recently had his new reality show cancelled in America after only 2 episodes when they only received 2million viewers.

It is great news that Michael McIntyre will be joining the line up...he will provide undoubtedly amazing witty remarks and humour throughout...I can't wait.

Amanda Holden will still be in the line up...as well as Ant and Dec

and Simon Cowell will only be joining for the live finals.

So there is a lot going on here, but I am sure it will be great no matter what (another Susan Boyle find?)

However...time to celebrate that Piers Morgan is out...he has hit it big in America...replacing Larry King's time slot...you are welcome to him

Matt Cardle: Final X Factor 2010 Post!

Yes it is true that this will be my final post of The X Factor 2010. The hype and controversy is over and the contestants will be slowly fading away, as their spotlight goes out and they return to their homes.

So Matt Cardle was the winner of The X Factor 2010, propped up by Dannii Minogue and the money off Simon Cowell. Even Cheryl Cole couldn't deny he deserved to win.

It is infarct this years Christmas #1

Well done to Matt who thoroughly deserved it and fought of tough competition from many other X Factor influences in the chart, including Rihanna

I hope he goes far with his career.

The X Factor: Her SWAG is turned off!

This evening showcased a fantastic amount of talent however the first elimination of the final of The X Factor 2010 was the junior Cheryl Cole, and all around Marmite girl Cher Lloyd.

She tried her absolute best (I mean worst..no best...she forgot to sing) to compete against all the other more competent singers, and she showcased an array of melodies.

Whilst singing with her guest Will.I.Am she still did a so called 'mashup' (I call it stopping one song and starting another), where she would have benefited sticking to one song to help her get into the final (hahaha). The fact is that Cher and Will.I.Am didn't fit as they should of, it was more reflective on Cheryl Cole needing to call in a favour to Will.I.Am to help promote the known runner up.

I call Cher Lloyd the known runner up, as everyone knew she was going to be on the chop after the past few weeks. She was ushered into final (hmm Simon Cowell) after changing the format from three finalists to four, and a scandalous vote off which saw Dannii Minogue vote against Mary who she has championed.

It was apparent that Cher herself knew she would be leaving...she had expected it and prepared for it...no tears.. no tantrums, just a relief to have been there. So she will go graciously and maybe move on in her career.

Cher Lloyd's Swag has been turned off.

X Factor moans this week!

So ITV's X Factor continues.... and guess what, there is plenty to moan about this popular show this week.

Please stop making me listen to Katie

Sunday Show

To start off it goes without saying that the usual miming occurred in the group Sunday show, and yet they still to hide this, and almost enjoy dropping their microphones and forgetting to sing.

Also on the Sunday show he had the return of Shayne Ward (who is releasing a cover song), however his stage performance was something of a shy and retracted show. Stood high up on a podium looking down at everyone is movement and production was restricted...almost punishing him for having a few quiet years.

Kylie followed Shayne and her production was massive, and we almost saw her trip over at one point which was rather comical and would have pleased millions of viewers, not because we are mean..but we like to laugh. It seems that we had all forgotten Dannii and Kylie's relationship, they seem like worlds apart.

Yes Treyc 'C' Cohen left the competition, however her presence will only be missed for her faultless but unemotional performances. We just couldn't connect with her, which is a shame as she is rather talented..and yet Katie did survive..but we will wait for her to be skinned next week by the cruel and unforgiving public.

Saturday Show

I found this week that Mary really dropped her form and she didn't connect to her song at all. I'm surprised she wasn't more slated for her poor vocals..Simon obviously likes her.

Matt Cardle was on top form in his performance, and he bought describable emotions to the song which had many of us getting that goosebumps feeling. However one criticism of this was that he had already sung this song in Boot-camp, and I would have liked to seen something different. 

Rebecca was elegant and her vocal was just on the money opposed to Wagner to entertained but wasn't exactly recording a ballad.

Katie was just a mess.. and Paije still bores me. Aiden still scares me...

One direction was taking the American theme too far, and the fact is that people will always vote for them in numbers. However their song choice wasn't right for the show, it was American based and didn't fit to aim at the UK market.

Cher was once again a hit Marmite for me, not sure if I was understanding the genuineness of her performance 

Cheryl Cole was looking hot as usual..but Dannii had some odd dress going on, and she only really appeared to protect her own acts. Louis was talking a lot of sense and Simon seemed away with the fairies.

The X Factor: The good the bad and the Ugly

It is Week 4 of the live shows of The X Factor (ITV) and it is beginning to heat up as some talent is shining and some his flopping. 

The Halloween theme this week wasn't really embraced by many of the contestants, whose mentors thought having the word 'blood' in the song made it spooky.

Matt Cardle - great voice as usual although not his best, however it is a really tough song and he did it justice as he made it his own. He didn't really express the Halloween theme, although Leona Lewis herself can be creepy at times, as she doesn't often smile.

Paije Richardson - Into week 4 and I am still not a fan of him. The use of the word 'diva' which is a supplement for the word gay in his case seems to be thrown about when anyone is talking about him. I thought a diva was a demanding female vocalist. He sang well this week but he just lacks a star quality, he just wouldn't work in the UK market. Was it Halloween..?

Aiden Grimshaw - well without sounding like a broken record...You make me feel uneasy when  watch you. You make me want to hide as your psychotic eyes follow me on the screen. Your Michael Jackson cover of 'Thriller' pretty much had you spitting on MJ's hard work. Good idea..wrong delivery. The song was Halloween based that's it..

Simon Cowell

One Direction - So this week I thought One Direction sang really well and as a unit, and showed their potential to be very successful in the UK market. Although for them to progress it would be good with Harry Styles took some lead vocals. Great idea to place them as Vampires also, cash it in for Halloween.

Belle Amie - Once again Belle Amie were pretty much strolling down the road...their vocals weren't always in harmony as a group. Their need to all shine doesn't help the song, as one key vocalist would give us some consistency to deal with. They may be up for the chop in the results show..but well done on the Halloween theme.

Louis Walsh 

Mary Byrne - Once again I cant fault her voice...she makes everything sound good, but would she ever have a place in the UK charts..I'm not sure. Perhaps Britain's got Talent may have served her better. Apparently it appears Louis' idea of a modern song is Take That from the 90's, which turned out well, but it was still an old song. good luck Mary..your name is addictive to say in an Irish accent. Halloween theme..not so much.

Wagner - Up until this week I have been a supporter of our crazy friend. However this week I struggled to understand his phrasing and his whole performance. The combination of the two songs didn't work this week, and he might face the chop. However Wagner did rock the Halloween theme with some success..the gaunt look. 

Cheryl (national treasure) Cole/Tweedy

Cher Lloyd - The change from gangster wannabe to a credible artist may have just occurred this week for Cher. Stepping away from this rude girl atmosphere she reminded of us of why we loved her first audition...it was the fact that she just sang and made her vocals do the talking. This is a clever ploy from Cheryl Cole and the X Factor machine to attract back any 'haters' than didn't respond to he rap/shouts. The world may say your name in niceties again. Great job on the freaky Halloween tune and number.

Rebecca Ferguson - I was not a fan of Rebecca at the beginning as her shy persona and fragile vocals deterred me..however I am now enjoying her performances and her style. She is making transitions week by week to improve..I hope she sticks around and grows into a star. Her Halloween style was questionable though.. could have been amped up higher.

 

Treyc Cohen - After being in lasts weeks bottom two it seems Treyc has picked herself up, and away from a deluded rock artist. She embraced the week and tried her best..her voice is great and she looks great...she did well with the Halloween theme, but there is something missing, and it appears to be the hunger for victory which doesn't transpire to the viewers at home. She may need to get a sob story..

Katie Waissel - After she smashed last weeks performance, she had to prove she could continue her run. She used a retro classic from the Tv show 'Bewithced', which I didn't realise had words as I usually hum along to it..du du..du..du. It didn't shine out like last week and didn't feel overly scary for Halloween (but hey the word 'witch' was included), but she managed to sway me to the love her side of Marmite. I think she may grow stronger in the competition and be around a few more weeks.

Another X Factor Contestant bites the dust!

In the bottom two of the X Factor this week was Treyc and John and I was not happy, I would have rather it was Paige and Cher.. but I guessed I should have picked up the phone in that case.
Once again the sing off showed both Treyc an d John to sing better than on the Sunday show..probably due to them singing what they are actually good at, and what they want not the judges.

The hard decision it could have been seems rather easy to make, with a clear favourite to stay between the two of them.

But unfortunately JOHN ADELEYE was sent packing. Will we see him again...? I doubt it.

In other X Factor News ITV has the delights of Michael Buble on again who sang brilliantly, and was as ever the  gentleman of the show. Cheryl Cole managed to mix live verses and mimed choruses together, using a mimed live track. The bits she sang live were great as well as superb dancing. However lets not forget the strain on her body from her recent malaria.

But will next week bring... more lights, drama, mimed group song, and an intense Aiden Grimshaw.
God bless your show Simon Cowell... and well done Wagner for staying in, you are Entertaining.

Top X Factor Moans of the week

1) X Factor  (you know.. that ITV show with Simon Cowell.. heard of it?)
-They mime on the group songs, and they don't even try to hide it. The obvious miming is clearly shown as none of their voiced sound live but only processed on the results show.

- Cheryl Cole and the fact that her and her contestants hair were died red. Is there an advertising campaign? Or are they all really obsessed with you.

-Belle Amie - and there obvious self-destruction on the show is seen, as their VT tape sets them up to be at the bottom.

- Aiden Grimshaw - Will he survive his awkward performances, which to be honest has become something rather scary and borderline creepy/psycho.

-Will Cheryl's live performance tonight be note perfect...? If not her dancing will make up for it, and we expect a smoking outfit to detract from her singing abilities.

- Cher Lloyd is a rough Chav - who isn't a gangster, so stop rapping like one.

The only good things to say this week is that Matt Cardle absolutely stole the show with his cover of Britney Spears, he is the highlight and clear winner so far. Also we can look forward to the talented Michael Buble this evening.


In other X Factor News, rejected Contestant GAMU showed up at the MOBO awards this week. we hope she bounces back.. she deserves it.

A randon moan! Cowell vs Cameron - Smiles and Fear.

Are people really more intrested in what Simon Cowell has to say about our nation compared to leader of the government David Cameron.

I believe so.

...and it's scary that we would be more likely to listen to someone that says yes or no for a living on the X factor, compared to someone who details complicated manifestos.

But hey with Simon at least there is always a clear and definant answer to the situation.

X factor 2- 2 Strictly

The ratings war starts again as The X factor and Strictly come dancing fight for prime time ratings. One of the most anxious rating wars for the bosses of ITV and BBC. Who will shift and who will hold their ground.

However if you are like most people, it doesn't impact your everyday life as you can RECORD THEM, so what is the fuss about! What's the point, loyal viewers will watch both anyway.

Will they have clashing results shows?
Perhaps try and beat each other with better special guests?

Simon tells Cheryl: Make him an X

The power house that controls a nation.. Simon Cowell, not David Cameron. Has been said to have told Cheryl Cole/Tweedy (who knows her name any more)  to split up with her dancer boyfriend, to help her career rolling on the cash and fame. Simon has been said to have words with the back up dancer to back right off into a panto it seems.

Does Cheryl need to be single in order to maintain her loyal male fan base who may fantasise being with her? I think not, this young superstar is constantly voted as one of the hottest and influential women in Britain, as well as a style icon.

Perhaps Simon is worried she will not be as popular in a relationship, as i doubt many of us really belief it will damage her 'singing career'

X Factor 2010

As I sat down to watch the X factor for yet another year, I thought perhaps this year they would change the format of the show.

However, within the first minute predictable editing, montages, and sob stories were thrust upon the nation. Although at heart we new this would be the case, I was not prepared for the disappointment of tampering with contestant voices. Immediately I could hear the auto tune software as it clearly echoed and tingled in my ear. Those older viewers such as clueless parents did not register, but we know in our youth of Charlie bit me auto tune and T-Pains Auto tune app for the Iphone.
There was no attempt to disguise the software, these contestants may go on to Win the X factor, however their first audition will never be that of Leona Lewis or Alexandra Burke's honest and stripped back Audition. A young woman Gamu was the most used and exploited in her audition by her X factor team as she gave a great rendition of Walking on sunshine by Katrina and the Waves, which would not have needed tampering with.

In a quick mention the slightly odd yet entertaining 'Mercy Woman' (Shirlena Johnson) was less than beneficial from auto tuning. The recent claims of her mental state has been likened to that of Susan Boyle despite being her own individual self, will she put in a box with the now millionaire Scot.
